10 things Task 4
10 things I have learn Professionally
- I had never previously used a blog and so starting one here has been a new process for me, however i have found so far that this is a much easier and quicker way of keeping my work organised and structured.
- by working constantly in blog groups i have improved my group skills and now feel more comforting contributing and speaking up.
- My skills on software have also greatly improved, I have learned new ways of working in illustrator, indesign and photoshop, and now feel more confident when using it.
- Art history is something which I have never done, so learning about different periods which effect the art world is very interesting to me and hope to use in within context in my work.
- By using blogger i now find it much easier to collect and gather research, it is quick and simple to use, whereas in the past research would take days of printing and scaling.
- I have also learnt a lot about type since starting the course, even though I am not as confident as others within the class i now feel like type isn't scary, whereas I use to dread it.
- Colour theory is another area where I feel I have gained more knowledge, I never knew there was so much to consider when using colour, this will help me when choosing colours for my work in the future.
- I have recently started to redo work which i had previously done, i think this is because it is now easier to go back to work and reevaluate it using my blog, other people opinions really help when making decisions to change or start something again.
- By looking at a wide range of artists I have discovered in more depth what I like about design and what design I would like to create myself, this has greatly influenced my work.
- The indesign workshops really helped my to released that I liked editorial design, in the past i found it boring but Lorenzo's workshops helped by showing a more interesting side to it.
Things I have learnt on a more personal level
- I have learnt to cook for myself but using recipe books and recipes which i have collected out of magazines, i now really enjoy cooking for myself and others.
- I have become much more tidy, having my own space has made me respect things more and keep things tidier
- I have become much better at time management, even though i could be better at it i now know what to prioritise.
- I am much more confident around friend than I used to be, by being around people all day I am much closer to my friends
- I have so far managed my money very well, something which i and family members thought would be a great struggle for me.
- I am much more independent since moving to leeds, I am much more confident when doing things by myself than i was before coming to uni.
- I am now much happier to do work when I come home from uni than i was at the beginning, i have started to get into the habit of coming home and doing work so that it is over and done with rather than leaving it till the last moment.
- Before moving to leeds i never read any books, whereas now I had read several and enjoy reading other types of things such as graphics magazines and fashion magazines
- I have also started going to arty events such as artists shows and fairs, as well as going to shows at galleries, they have all been very interesting.
- I feel a lot more social since coming to uni, meeting new people and being in new social situations has helped my to improve my social skills.
